2017
OSI continues to push forward in sharing the experience of African Americans in Northern Nevada history through exhibitions, our website, our social medias, our You Tube channel, and our publications. 2017 was a busy year for us!
January 2017
We began to work on our 2nd volume book entitled 300+ More Facts About The African American Experience In Northern Nevada!
February 2017
- We participated in the Celebrating African American History & Culture event at the Carson City Library.
- Our publications became available for purchase at the Legislative Gift Shop and the Nevada State Museum Book Store.
- We unveiled a new display backdrop
- We appeared in the DEMS Newsletter
March 2017
We attended BlackPast.org 10 Year Celebration at the historic Washington Hall in Seattle, Washington.
We joined Global Giving.
May 2017
We exhibited at the kick-off for the Reno Nevada Sesquicentennial Birthday Celebration.
September 2017
We were invited by the Nevada Department Of Administration and Nevada Women’s History to setup an exhibit honoring Bertha Woodard at the Nevada State Capitol. The display was viewed for over four months!
We are excited to see what 2018 holds for us!!!!
